Apologies for the silence in the last few weeks. With University work getting slightly more intense, i've been a little 'off the map'.
However, 2 weeks last Friday was one of my favourite days of the year... the 5th of November... Bonfire Night! Accompined with my two friends, a cracking pair of wellies (because yes... it of course rained all day) and 4 packs on giant sparklers, we set out to watch the fireworks near Layland, Lancashire.
Here are some of my photographs i took of the evening. The colours are so intense and surreal. The way that the colours contrast the dark, winter nights sky is so rich. They were taken on a Canon 10mp digital camera, with a shutter speed of 1 second. Hope you like them too :)

Movember begins...
Morning all!
'The Mo, slang for moustache, and November come together each year for Movember.
Movember challenges men to change their appearance and the face of men’s health by growing a moustache. The rules are simple, start Movember 1st clean shaven and then grow a moustache for the entire month. The moustache becomes the ribbon for men’s health, the means by which awareness and funds are raised for cancers that affect men. Much like the commitment to run or walk for charity, the men of Movember commit to growing a moustache for 30 days.'
So men... lets get shaving and then lets leave it - yes ladies, that means a good few weeks of stubble-rash (gutted...) but lets face it, it's 30 days not FOREVER!
Have a wonderful Monday (doubtful, because who enjoys Monday anyway?)

Zero 7
I was introduced to Zero 7 through a friend of mine Matthew Sears a couple of years ago and I fell in love with their sound. For my 21st birthday I was lucky enough to purchase tickets to see them live the very next day and also, their latest album!! (tad excited haha). Better still, they were performing at my very own university, UCLan in Preston, Lancashire.
Their album Yeah, Ghost is a fantastic mixture of soft, easy listerning tones to more up beat, 'have-a-little-dance' tunes.
Here are some pictures that I took on the night, a whole year ago now... but this morning when I woke up, I knew this was the only thing I wanted to listen to :)
Have a wonderful friday, a fab weekend and get spooooooking on Sunday.

Red skies...

Now that the dark mornings have arrived, it's nice to wake up and actually see the sun come up. However, during the winter, I love watching the sun set. With the cold weather creeping in, thick Aaron knit jumpers, hat and mittens are making a reappearance into our every day attire.
I love winter. It's my favourite time of year. The cold weather is so refreshing, so crisp and a real eye opener in the morning :) can't wait for the snow to arrive, which will be more likely this year because I will be spending a good week in Scotland over Christmas - Bring on the snow!!
Have a good day

Columbine Goldsmith...

Columbine Goldsmith - Photographer
I fell in love with these images as soon as I saw them. The lighting and rich colours which have been produced are really indulgent and raw. The photographs were taken by Columbine Goldsmith using a Mamiya 7 and Polaroid Land Camera. Photography is such a wonderful thing; creating an image from a split second of life. Truly stunning.
